All your effort towards looking after our lovely town makes such a difference. From small cake bakes to huge fundraising efforts. Some of the recent business fundraisers include the Tramway Pub autumn raffle, the Shipwreck Loyalty Card and a raffle at Phillips Jewellers.

Going for Gold with help from The Venue
After securing a Silver Gilt Award at In Bloom 2023, our friends at The Venue pledged £250 to help us to get Gold in 2024! Here’s manager Mark handing over the cheque to some of the volunteers.
Cleveleys In Bloom Spring Raffle
Thank you again to everyone who has helped to support and promote the Cleveleys In Bloom Spring Raffle. Prizes were donated by volunteers and members and sold online and in stores. Thanks go to Phillips Jewellers, Plush, The Venue, Kays Chippy and The Tramway for selling tickets for us.
Balfour Beatty
Thank you to Balfour Beatty for helping out with all kinds of things! In January 2024 they kindly provided some materials to help with our redesign of the clock garden. Small pieces of rock and old wooden groynes were brought from the beach to become part of our seaside theme. They also donated a full set of hi-viz vests, litter pickers and sack hoops to the group.

Shipwreck Loyalty Card Scheme 2: August 2023
The Shipwreck Brewhouse and Micropub has been at it again, raising money for the town! Their ingenious fundraising scheme has been back during the summer months, raising another £1000 for Cleveleys.
Their loyalty card is sold to customers for £10, which provides holders with a 10% discount for a nominated period of time. If you’re a regular customer it’s well worth getting one when they’re available. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of cards goes straight to Care for Cleveleys – with 100% of it to be used in the improvement of the town.

Community Fundraiser at The Dickens
The Dickens is Meet-Up HQ and the landlord kindly allows volunteers to meet their each month to plot and plan what’s happening in the town! Part of Stonegate Pubs, the chain held a nomination process in early 2023 for deserving causes to receive a cash donation. Loads of you filled in the nomination form and Care for Cleveleys was lucky enough to receive a £500 award. Thank you so much!
McDonald Open Morning & Raffle
McDonald Property Rentals has had its base in Cleveleys for many years and they care about Cleveleys too. They rolled their sleeves up and helping the town out with their own fundraiser. Sadly, the shop has since closed.
On 31 March they held an Open Morning from 10-12.30pm and drawing the raffle raising over £200 for the town.
Shipwreck Loyalty Card Scheme 1: Jan 23
During the winter months of 2022, the Shipwreck Micropub ran an ingenious fundraising scheme. They sold a loyalty card to customers for a very reasonable £5, which provided a 10% discount for selected winter months. So any regulars would very quickly get their money back and more besides.
The beauty of the scheme is that the WHOLE of the £5 was to be handed over to charity. The town’s own Care for Cleveleys received one half, and Fleetwood Sea Cadets the other. But the good news doesn’t stop there, because Lytham Round Table MATCHED the first £1000 raised with £1000 from their own funds!
As a result, Care for Cleveleys and Fleetwood Sea Cadets were both delighted to be presented with £1175.00.
Paul Samson is owner of the Shipwreck, right at the heart of the town centre. He said “the scheme has worked really well this winter and people have been so enthusiastic about buying the cards and supporting these two great causes. Watch this space, we hope to do it again!”
It’s not the first time this generous bunch has raised money for Cleveleys, but this time they’ve excelled themselves! Here’s a short video from the presentation –

Care for Cleveleys Autumn Fundraiser
The Tramway Pub very kindly organised an Autumn Fundraiser for Care for Cleveleys. A big raffle offered a chance to win various prizes, all donated by kind local businesses, drawn at a fundraising event in November.
On Tuesday 15 November supporters gathered at the Tramway Pub for afternoon tea and entertainment, with £5 of ticket sales donated to Care for Cleveleys. In total a whopping £602 was raised for Care for Cleveleys! Well done and thank you so much to everyone who contributed.

Raffle at Phillips Jewellers
Phillips Jewellers – often run their own raffles and fundraisers for the town. Over November and December 2022 their raffle to win this bottle of Jack Daniels raised a whopping £280!
Fleetwood Team 50 Help at the Community Centre

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Prince’s Trust Fleetwood Team 50 have just completed their latest community project. The group of volunteers have worked for several weeks at Cleveleys Community Church Centre to complete some very welcome Spring cleaning!
In their time there, they managed to paint the toilets and surrounding corridor, some doors, the store cupboard at the front and all of the prayer room. They cleaned the front entrance way and railings to make it welcoming, adding some more spring flowers. The rear of the building got a good spruce up prior to the fitting of new security gates by the centre.
The Community Centre is used by many members of the community for a number of varied activities. Including local groups for Slimming World, Knit and Natter, Dance Classes, Keep Fit, Yoga, Choir Practice, SEN group holiday club. It also hosts a weekly indoor market with Arts and Crafts from local producers and community activities each week. The centre is also a Food Bank distribution venue.
Through this project the Team have gained many useful skills. Including teamwork, adaptability, planning, working to a deadline, working with the community and creativity, which are all skills to further enhance their CVs.
