Although based at Fleetwood, the Neighbourhood Policing Team have maintained strong community ties and a visible presence in the community. But they’ll once again have a local base in the town with the opening of the police hub. All thanks to funding from LANPAC (Lancashire Partnership Against Crime) and support from Care for Cleveleys.

New Police Hub Opens in Cleveleys
Following the opening of the new Care for Cleveleys Shop on 19 July, Lancashire Police Officers and PCSOs will be able to base themselves in community building while on duty in the town. Being based in the town means less travelling time and maximising their productive work time. They’ll also have the use of a private office for dealing with minor police matters for members of the community.
Watch out for upcoming public events too which will take place in the communal room behind the retail space. Come along to Coffee with a Cop and get to know your local officers. Bike Coding and other community safety drop-in events are planned for the future.
Sgt Andy Hill is the Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant responsible for Cleveleys. He said “I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to secure LANPAC funding to allow to us to use the space based out of the new Care for Cleveleys Community Shop. The police station has been missed since it closed in January 2018 and this opportunity will restore a visible presence for us in the town centre.
“If anyone has minor policing concerns or information they wish us to know about, they can leave a message for us at the shop counter. But still always ring 101 or 999 to report a crime. Watch out for us on foot too, or with the mobile units at local events.”
Putting People at the Heart of the Town
Chair of Care for Cleveleys, Jane Littlewood, is pleased to see the Neighbourhood Police moving into the building. Jane added “Our long-term vision is for the Shop to be a proper community hub and heart of the town. So collaboration with Lancashire Police is an amazing first step and stamp of approval for what we’re trying to create here.
“Along with raising funds to reinvest in Cleveleys, we’ll be holding all kinds of events and hosting all kinds of services which make life better for people who live here and visit. Our strapline is ‘Putting People at the Heart of the Town’ and that’s exactly what we intend to do.
“But we don’t receive any core funding so have to earn enough to cover the costs of running the building and providing space to host other agencies. Which is why the LANPAC grant is so important in the sustainability of the project. An accessible police presence is key to the future success of the town.”

Rooms are available to hire at the Care for Cleveleys Community Shop, at a very reasonable hourly rate. A large ground floor communal room is ideal for public meetings, drop-ins and informal events.
