Grand Opening of the NEW Care for Cleveleys Shop!

After three months of hard work, the Care for Cleveleys volunteers finally throw open the doors of the new community shop. Have a look around the retail space, selling quality pre-loved goods and new products. All profits go directly to projects in town.

Made possible thanks to a whopping £20,000 grant from the Walney Extension Community Fund.

Grand Opening of the NEW Care for Cleveleys Shop!

The shop opens to the public on Saturday 19 July at 10.30am. From 10am Cleveleys very own Capricorn Singers Ladies Choir will entertain, before the Grand Opening performed by our very own Ogre. It’s a bright, new and exciting chapter in the future of the town!

After three months of work, the volunteers invite you to the Grand Opening of the NEW Care for Cleveleys Shop!

This project is being delivered entirely by the volunteers of Cleveleys Town Centre Group Ltd (known as Care for Cleveleys). Much-appreciated funding from the Walney Extension Community Fund makes it possible.

Since taking possession of the building on 25 April, volunteers have worked tirelessly to transform a tired and neglected building into a warm and friendly community space. Hopefully you’ll be impressed! The quality fundraising shop will generate an ongoing revenue stream – earning money to be invested into the town. And the additional events, activities and communal rooms will enable the group to do more, deliver partnership services, and grow even further. The rest of the two-storey building will be space for events, activities, projects and partnership working. A true community space, right in the middle of town.

2 Princess Road is the old Red Cross shop opposite B&M Bargains. Before Red Cross it was Ladbrokes and back in the day was Worsnip’s Fish and Chip shop.

Community Shop in the Centre of Town

Over the last ten years, Care for Cleveleys has grown into a substantial and productive group. Delivering everything from painting and planting to Christmas lights and events. (More about what we do, here). The Group is recognised with a prestigious Kings Award for Voluntary Service (the equivalent of an MBE) and Gold In Bloom Awards. But C4C was at the limit of what it could do without space and its own premises. The shop at Princess Road, made possible by the Walney Extension Community Fund, secures the future of the group.

Opportunities for the Town!

Cleveleys Town Centre Group Ltd is the management company which oversees Care for Cleveleys. Everyone involved in it and the Care for Cleveleys group are unpaid volunteers. A lot of hard work has gone into the grant application and getting to this stage. But now the real hard work – and the fun – begins. We’ll also be looking for even more volunteers, including people to work in the shop. If you fancy being part of the team, come along and join in!

The shop looks brilliant from outside!. Gutted it was closed when we went into Cleveleys specially to go in the new shop on Monday 🙁

    1. Oh I’m so sorry – Monday is the only day we’re currently closed! Run entirely by volunteers we’re trying to get ourselves into shape now. We may open 7 days a week eventually.
