Cleveleys In Bloom 2026

Another busy year for the volunteers, working hard to make the Cleveleys In Bloom 2026 entry another Gold Winning one (fingers crossed!)

Cleveleys In Bloom 2026

The annual RHS In Bloom year runs from summer to summer, from judging which takes place usually in July. In Bloom is very much a year-round activity here in Cleveleys. Each summer the team welcome the judges and enjoy showing them around the work of the community. Then in autumn, representatives go to the annual awards ceremony, and the whole process starts again.

After judging, each group gets a report back from judges. It’s not the type of competition where you compete against others. It’s your own personal competition against a scoring sheet, where each year there’s a chance to do better!

What we’ve done (and are doing) in 2026

There are some interesting Cleveleys In Bloom projects for 2026.

💰Sold poppies in the Shop, raising £207.77 for the Royal British Legion

🌺 Put the Poppy Net installation up at the Clock Garden in time for Remembrance.

🎄Opted for real/rooted Christmas trees for new planters at Princess Road. We’re not sure whether they will survive the wind but it’s worth a try. They’re underplanted with pretty Spring bulbs.

🎄Decorated our entry for the Christmas Tree Festival celebrating our KAVS award with crochet and makes.

🌼Made teacup-and-saucer Christmas planters, complete with Spring bulbs to sell and raise money

🌺 Made and sold seed bombs to raise money

🍀 Created a new garden around Derby Road car park, to create a warm and attractive welcome to town.

💦 Rigged up an ingenious rain-water collection system at the Care for Cleveleys Shop for watering planters

🍄Added new wooden toadstools to the Derby Road car park garden

🌺 Launched the 2026 Blooming Cleveleys Business campaign

🌺 Installed 16 new half-barrels at Cleveleys Square to create a welcoming entry to the town

🐝 Made a dead hedge and installed a bug hotel at Derby Road car park

🎄 The Christmas trees didn’t survive, so the 5 x planters were replanted with alpine plants – and fitted with a slot for next years cut Christmas tree!

And of course we continued with our usual aims…

🌺 Maintaining a standard of planting in existing planters and beds. Including adding more longer living perennials and shrubs plus bedding plants for seasonal colour

🐝 Increasing biodiversity.

👧 Working with local schools and groups

🧶 New crochet and craft installations installed throughout the year.

😂 All delivered with lots of fun and laughing – why don’t you join in? Everyone welcome, all ages, all abilities ❤

Everyone Welcome to help with Cleveleys In Bloom 2026!

Volunteers, and interested people are invited to follow what we do (and join in) on our Care for Cleveleys Facebook page.  We post photos there of every activity, including events and meetings for people to join in.

Regular volunteers are invited to join the Care for Cleveleys (C4C) Messenger groups. These include, C4C Regulars, C4C Water Gang, C4C Clean up Team, C4C Weed Warriors and C4C Crochet.

It’s great fun and a good way to get out and about and make new friends. Why don’t you join in and give it a go!

Support Cleveleys In Bloom Fundraising

Thanks go to Wyre Council who provide an annual grant to the town to support our In Bloom entry. It makes a big difference to what we’re able to do.

But everything costs such a lot of money and it’s nowhere near enough for the plans that we’ve got!

So the Care for Cleveleys team run various fundraising projects throughout the year. All proceeds go to making Cleveleys look lovely.

Thankyou

The intention is for Cleveleys to keep blooming! We want it to continue as an attractive destination for visitors as well as being a wonderful place to live.

The more people who join in the more that can be achieved.

We’d particularly like to thank all of the local businesses and individuals who are really embracing the spirit of Care for Cleveleys. It’s encouraging to see so many helping out and really helps to encourage volunteers to do more.
