Making the new Care for Cleveleys SHOP

On 29.4.25 the group who looks after the town revealed their next exciting step… C4C has secured retail premises at 2 Princess Road at the heart of the town centre. All thanks to a whopping £20,000 grant from the Walney Extension Community Fund. Now the fun of making the new Care for Cleveleys SHOP begins!

Making the new Care for Cleveleys SHOP

This time last year, the Red Cross vacated 2 Princess Road and since then it has been empty. Builders have been inside, carrying out remediation works to get it ready for new tenants. But builders being builders… they hadn’t cleaned up and inside was, shall we say, grotty! So the first job was to clear all their mess away, disinfect the loos and kitchen and make it feel like ours!

That done, the next step is to tackle a list of building jobs. This is going to be the groups home for a long time so the group may as well have it as they want it. Experience says that once you’re in a building, anything messy gets left. So dirty jobs like changing lights in the suspended ceiling, cleaning out the ventilation system and putting a window in the multi-use room need doing first.

We’ll also be looking for even more volunteers, including people to work in the shop. So if you fancy being part of the team just come along and join in.
